| Laugher IS the best medicine! |
And don’t forget worrying about the current economic recession, layoffs, your yearly review, whether your boss will finally notice you (and not just when you screw up), whether your sweetheart is going to send you a bouquet of roses to your cubicle for Valentine’s Day…
No wonder you developed that twitch in your right eye.
Gayle Lantz, in her article about workplace stress, explains how leaders can help employees by staying calm and maintaining a sense of humor. An article on Forbes.com about battling workplace stress also suggests using humor and turning “the panic into a thrill.”
I’ve tried that. But, for some reason, whenever I get stressed and start laughing maniacally, my coworkers look at me funny.
Anyway, what do you do when workplace stress threatens to get the best of you? Do you go and get a massage during your lunch break? Take a walk around the block? Go home and kick the [proverbial] dog?
Let me know! After all, what’s one more thing on that to-do list?
